Description
I purchased this VeCarTech cargo cover for my 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 as it was less expensive than alternatives. But, the ends that hook in to the slots on the car are too thin/narrow so the cover sags when in place (see before picture).
This is a set of parts that press fit on the ends to facilitate a snugger fit and keep the cover from sagging so much. It is probably best to use a little glue to hold them on.
I recommend printing in PETG which has held up well for me in the hot car. PLA warps too easily in the heat of a car sitting in the sun.
The design pictured has a “pin” for added support, but there is also an alternate version with no pin. If you look at where the handle end of the cargo cover hooks in near the trunk opening, there is a small hole behind where the cargo cover hooks in place.
Both versions work pretty well, and are definitely an improvement on the original. I personally prefer the version with the pin as it seems to be a little more effective, but I designed the "no pin" version along the way so I figured I'd give people options.
I added a “stronger” version of the end support with thicker walls around where it fits on to the end of the cargo cover. My original one finally broke off the cargo cover, so hopefully this will be more durable.
I also recommend a bit of double stick tape inside the part to help attach it to the cargo cover. Over time it loosens up a bit and the tape helps it stay attached to the cargo cover.
