Changes from Halloween Raven by jonasrh:

  • Interior hollow volumes removed from the raven's body. They matter little at the original scale, but since this version is four times bigger the remix significantly saves on material and print time. Coming in at a length of 45cm, this print is almost as big as real-life Common Ravens - corvus corax.
  • Alternative pose added, so that Huginn and Muninn are not identical. The alternative pose (raised head and tail, blue eyes in the photos) has a small error in the area that meets the beak, resulting in a small gap under the beak. It's visible in the photo if you look closely.
  • 3MF project with the legs with a prepared negative volume for a 5mm diam screw. In my assembly the screw starts inside the raven's body (cut open after printing and holes drilled), goes through the legs and then creates its own thread in the "wood" base.
  • 3MF project with the prepared log base for 5mm diam wood screws. Required screw length is 25mm + how far you want to screw into the wood. I've also added a few volumes to clean up gaps or elements that are too thin to print. If you don't plan to screw the model into anything, simply remove those volumes in your slicer.

Update 20230521

  • both body files are now pre-scaled to match the other files
  • the eyes are now separate objects

Update 20230527

  • legs.3mf now uses supports more judiciously (PrusaSlicer 2.6)
  • legs.3mf now uses dynamic overhang speed (PrusaSlicer 2.6)
  • beak.stl is now scaled correctly and reoriented
  • beak.3mf now has hand-painted seams and higher brim separation gap

This model does not include the pumpkins and skull files from jonasrh's upload since they're not used here.

Tip: use the cutting tool introduced with PrusaSlicer 2.6 to split the body into printable chunks with connectors. That way you can also avoid supports altogether (see screenshot in the gallery for recommended split). Recommended glue: contact cement. I used Pattex “colle de contact / Kraftkleber / contact adhesive”. Recommended infill if splitting the main body: lightning.
