Description
A typical adapter from a traditional quarter inch photo mount to a GoPro style mount will adapt to a quarter inch screw, not a nut. But there are cases when you need to adapt to a inner thread (nut). My LED lighting ring is such an example. That is what I made the GoPro 3leg adapter fore. The 2leg adapter is a bonus for whatever application you may have.
Printing these parts is very simple. Just print all parts in the needed orientation. I recommend at least 4 perimeters to make the parts strong, especially for the screw. An infill of 25% should then be enough.
For the 3leg GoPro mount you will need a M5 nut. It should fit snuggly into the printed part. I anyway propose you put a bit of glue (whatever works for your material) on the inside of the printed parts before you push in the nut. Otherwise you would likely loose it at some point in time. If your application does not require to ever fully take the screw out, there is of course no need for the glue.
A printed screw is not unbreakable. For steady, non-violent applications it should work fine with the printed screw. For action loaded applications, I recommend to use a commercial metal screw. Use these parts totally at your own risk.
Your satisfaction is my reward, please give me a like if you like these parts.
Happy printing!
