Description
I found good quality grommets (e.g. solid brass) either expensive or difficult to procure in large quantities. As an alternative, I designed this kind of “screw in” grommet/eylet that does the job and is also reusable.
The inner hole is 12mm in diameter and it requires a 16mm (outer) hole in the fabric/material you wish to install the grommet/eylet in. A hole punch is preferred for perforating the outer hole. If you are using the grommet/eylet like me on thin polythene fabric (the kind for greenhouses and polytunnels), you will want to double the fabric (i.e. make a fold).
The grommet/eylet is pretty thin and so I added a rudimentary tool you can use to screw the two parts (A and B) together effectively. Just print the tool twice and you are all set. It is not the most ergonomic tool but it does the job.
No supports. The files are optimized for 0.6mm nozzle and I personally print them with a 0.3mm layer height out of PETG. This should print fine with a 0.4mm nozzle as well.
