Description
This is a jig handle that I used for a router jig. You put a hot melt M6 insert on the top of the base and bolt it to your jig from the bottom. Once installed you screw on the handle. The strength of the handle is enhanced by the hot melt insert being high in the base and compressed down by the M6 bolt that mounts it. For my jig I used Flat Head Socket Cap Screws. This way you are not relying on the layer strength and instead use the bolt strength and the large thread surface area of the handle.
I printed this in PLA but PETG/ABS would probably be even stronger but so far it has worked. I printed with many 5 outer layers and dense strong infill like gyroid at 30%. It needs to be printed for strength.
