Description
May 2026: Added a larger V2 so we could keep more pens handy at the fridge. This necessitated using larger magnets so I switched to these roughly 3mm thick items. The model has room for 12 magnets but in my case 8 was more than enough. Just use what you need. I've found these cheap magnets are not precisely uniform in diameter so rather than try to press-fit them I opted for a drop of super glue. The photo with the blue holder is the new V2.
We keep a magnetic notepad on the side of our fridge for our grocery list. We had a pencil cup on the counter which was slightly annoying and often in the way. It finally dawned on me to create a holder that could attach to the side of the fridge next to the notepad. This is the result. It is 50x20x90mm and took about 1.5 hours to print using a 4mm nozzle on the .2mm Quality setting.
There are slight indents on the back as a positioning aid for the magnets (not through holes). I originally had a larger model before reducing to this size - the 8 magnets is way overkill. I imagine 4 is plenty so you should try using only 4 at first and add more if needed. I used these 6x2mm magnets from Amazon and attached them using Gorilla glue.
Printed with my MK3S+ using Eryone Silk Silver filament.
