Description

There are two sizes—280mm and 245mm. The short one fits on smaller print beds.

To complete assembly you will need ~70mm length of filament and two metal washers ~7mm in diameter.

Assembly:

  1. Flatten one end of the length of filament by pressing it against a heated metal surface such as a scraper, utility knife blade, etc. until you achieve a mushroom shape forming a head on the length of filament. This may take a bit of practice to get the right heat on the metal and correct pressure to just melt the filament without scorching it or producing strings.
  2. Thread the other end of the filament through one of the legs on Side 1 until it just peeks through.
  3. Place one of the washers on the filament.
  4. Continue threading the filament through the single leg of Side 2 until it just peeks through.
  5. Place the remaining washer on the filament. A this point check the orientation of the angles on the ends of the tongs.  For use the angle should be on the inside of the tongs. For storage they should be on the outside of the tongs.
  6. Thread the filament through the second leg of Side 1 until the “mushroom” head created in Step 1 stops it.
  7. Trim the excess filament so that ~1mm extends on the unfinished side.
  8. Holding the already flattened head firmly against the side of the tongs, repeat Step 1 to melt another head on the filament.
  9. Enjoy!! Your salad tongs are ready for  use.
