Description
I purchased an electric screw driver from Hoto that came in an aluminium cylinder. The driver itself is fantastic, but the cylinder took up a lot of space and didn't stay closed. The bit selection was also rather poor.
I decided to make a new box that can fit more bits & would stay closed.
This will hold 41 bits & a ¼" extension bit in the lid.
I've included the STEP file if anyone would like to modify this one.
Hardware required is:
You will also need some epoxy to glue the bottom of the bit holder to the top half after placing all of your magnets in. I highly recommend checking the bit silos for a loose fit before adding your magnets. The calibration of your printer may impact the accuracy of the holes, making it difficult to remove the bits. If so, recalibrating or maybe just increasing your XY expansion setting may help. This printed fine on the first go for me.
When assembling, put the bit holder together first then insert it into the bottom insert (black thing that holds the driver in the bottom of the case). Then insert the bottom insert into the bottom half of the case. Everything is designed to have an interference fit (magnets aside) so doing it in this order will make your life easier.
