Description
Originally designed to hand out to homeless people to hold valuables like ID, lighter, feminine products, etc that they want to keep close and dry. They have been a huge hit with a lot of the social workers around the city and I can't keep up with demand for them.
I used the model I've marked this as a remix of to create the can itself then added the loop. I think connect a carabiner or keychain cable to them.
I've included a .3mf of the container itself to show how I mode the print for strength and a clean print. It included modifiers to slow down on the chamfer, the overhang on the loop and the threads. It also increases perimeters on the loop to increase strength. Unfortunately Prusaslicer doesn't merge perimeters very well in this situation so it looks funky but reliability of the loop is more important. No supports should be need.
I don't bother with a gasket because the goal is weatherproof, not waterproof. But you could print TPU gaskets for them.
PS: I've been printing 100s these in Numaker PLA on Prusa and Ender printers and it's worked wonderfully for them at $13.99/spool in lots of 10 or more. Here's an affiliate link which will give me a small commission to help support printing more of them.
