3D-Printed Fully Playable, Configurable Air Instruments

Having an air-guitar is fun but what if your friends want to get involved and start a band? You need more than just a couple of guitars! With this file you will be able to print off air Bass guitars, air drums, and using a secret AI formula it can even print off air instruments that haven't been programmed into it. Just select other from the drop down and fill in any air instruments that you desire. Air keyboards, Air acoustic guitars, or air bag-pipes, though I don't know why you would want to.

Download the .scad file and open it in the free OpenSCAD application that is available for Mac, Linux, and Windows. When it opens the window will have three panes. On the left side will be the code that generates your wonderful air instruments. If you aren't comfortable with code then you may safely ignore this section. The centre section shows a model of what your air instrument will look like when printed. On the right side is where you select your choice of instrument to generate (see second photo, the one that has Customizer near the top). If you don't see a way to choose instruments then click on the button labelled Instrument. If you wish to create an air guitar, bass, or drums then select them from the pull-down list. If you desire any other instrument select Other from the list and type in the name of the instrument in the field below. You don't need to include “air-”. To create an air-keyboard select other from the Instrument pull down field, type Keyboard in the Other field, and either press tab or click somewhere in the window other than the field you were typing. That tells the application to generate the new instrument. At the bottom of the window you will find a pane with the label Console. After you finished typing the name of your instrument and left the field, or had selected the instrument from the pull down, you will see that some text will have been generated in this pane.
