Description
Link to Mark 2 version.
This phone mount, mounts to the 2016 Ford Rangers dash without the need for glue, screws or to remove/replace any part of the dash and can easily be removed if required.
The ball joint is a 17.25mm ball to mount a phone mount to my dash of my 2016 ford ranger. I have uploaded 2 versions in the .3mf format. the first is for PLA (although not recommended due to potential cabin temperatures) but has thinner structures for printing as PLA is fairly stiff.
The second model is much thicker and is for PETG which is more flexible. However PETG can survive cabin temperatures.
The ball joint insert has a 0mm tolerance as to form an interference fit. which means it should be able to be inserted into the holder, but will effecively not be able to be removed, as to not need any glue, screws or other securing methods. Printed in 2 parts as the best way to print the mount is on its side. Whilst printing the ball pretty much has to be facing straight up.
You will need supports enabled to print the mount.
Mount snaps into place on the dash. the top part goes into the vents at the side of the tray on the dash. Best to hook under the dash first then push the vent hook in until you hear a soft snap and it will be locked in. To mitigate movement even further you can place a small rubber band between the bottom (dash hook) and the dash.
