Description
I have an updated version at the following link https://www.printables.com/model/753753-3d-printed-marching-tenors-with-attachements
Small tunable drums using standard drum heads and 10-32 x 1-1/2" screws.
This was modeled in Fusion 360.
I have included three sizes (6",8", and 10") they all use the same size screw (10-32 x 1-½")
I would recommend pre-threading the screws before putting the head on. And when tuning be sure to work in a star pattern to evenly tension the rim.
Drum heads were ordered from Sweetwater. I'm thinking about getting a set of mesh heads for silent practice.
Accessories so far include…
-Snare Attachment for 6 in drum
-Cymbal Attachment for 8 in drum
-Tri-Tom holder for Three 6in drums
-Tri-Tom holder for 6, 8, and 10 in drums
Here is a link for TPU drumheads https://www.printables.com/model/1216377-tpu-drum-head-or-frisbee
Please feel free to suggest any other changes or options you would like to see!!!
Here are my basic settings.
Filament: Hatchbox Carbon-fiber PLA (currently sold out)
I printed my 6" drum using Sunlu Carbon-fiber PLA (Similar Quality)
I also printed a test shell in regular PLA and it feels just as strong as the Carbon-fiber.
Layer Height: 0.28mm
Perimeters: 4
Infill: 10%
No Raft or Brims
Sliced with Pursa Slicer
Printed on Creality CR-10 on a Glass Bed
The accessories are printed with the same settings but with regular PLA.
Update 7/20/23
I have added 12-inch 13-inch and 14-inch drums.
I have also added a Marching Tenors Assembly accessory. This allows you to connect 5 drums in a Marching Tenor configuration. (6in, 8in, 10in, 12in, 13in.) I don't have a printer to print the larger drums but maybe someone out there can test this for me while I save up and purchase a larger printer?
Below is a rendering of the assembled parts the bars will need to be glued into the connection pieces. Then the drums should fit in the slots.
