Lie Flat Filament Spool Holder (with bearing)

Having a problem finding space to put your filament spool near your print head? 

Current filament spool holder not rolling smoothly?

Try this design!

• Easy to print 
• Using readily available standard hardware
• Easy to mount on 2020 extrusion
• Works on most filament spool with an inner hole diameter of >50mm
• No limitation on the width

Things you will need

• 1x AXK5070 needle roller bearing
• 2x M4 2020 extrusion T slot nuts 
• 2x M4x10 screws (for mounting it as shown in the photos)
• 2x M4x25 screws (if you want to mount it stacking on top of the extrusion bar)

Optional items

• 2x M4x9 washers (any thickness)
• Velcro ties (>150mm)(instead of using screws and T slot nuts) 
• Cable ties (>150mm)(instead of using screw and T slot nuts)

This design is mainly for spools with a hole size of between 50mm to 60+mm.  I have included an adaptor plate for spools where the hole is 50+mm but the edge of the hole is not flushed. This has resolved all the spools I have on hand. 

I have tried using 4x Velcro ties (150mm) to tie the holder to the extrusion and it works and I believe cable ties will achieve similar results.

I initially purchased the needle roller bearing to put on my Eibos Easdry because the ribs around the internal core were hindering the smooth rolling of the spool at times. Later realized this bearing comes in 3 pieces, not very practical to be hanging it vertically!

I thought about making the core interchangeable but starting to see most spools have >50mm center hole so I didn't want to complicate the design and have extra parts to fiddle with. 

Let me know if there is a spool that does not fit, I will see how to make it work when I can.
