Description
Update: I added a more rounded version with a 12 mm hole. I noticed that sometimes the top part breaks off from the "Ball-part".
When you are in a wheelchair it can be difficult to pick up something from the floor. Happily there are grabbers available that you can you can use for it.
However that hardly works for small objects or single sheets of paper. It is very difficult or impossible to grap those with such a grabber.
I had the idea to use a sticky pad. These pads are used i.e. to stick your cell phone to the dashboard of your car. When dirty, and not sticking very well anymore, you can wash it with water and the sticky feature comes back.
I designed a part for the sticky part with a ball joint so it will keep the sticky pad almost horizontal. (You have to print this part with minimal supports, and then break it loose after printing).
I also designed a handle, you can find many differen handle designs in the internet.
For the stick itself I used a piece of plastic tubing from my local hardware store. The radius is about 11.5 mm.
I also made a second version with a 10 mm hole in case you want to use a different type of stick (wood or allumium). It is not that difficult to change the hole with CAD SW.
The sticky pads you can find in Amazon.
