Description
This is a work in progress but I wanted to share it because it seems to work really well. I obviously have an old Samsung Galaxy S5, and I want to reuse it. It has a removable battery, and I found directions on powering it without the battery here -

While Yaky figured out all the hard electrical things, I made a holder for the phone with an integral connection to the battery. This is a WIP because I don't have an adequate power supply, but the phone fits in the holder, and I was able to get the phone to start booting using the electrical connections in this holder. I think everything was working ok except the power supply was not adequate, but it would not continue starting up so I am not sure if it really works or not.
I will update this when I get the power supply and get everything finished, but in the mean time if someone else wants to work in it, attached is the OpenSCAD program that makes the model.
I clipped off the electrical leads from some resisters to make the contacts, feed through the bottom and wrapped over the top. The photo shows the contacts that I used on an earlier prototype, including the resisters to simulate the battery thermistor per Yaky's writeup.
I printed the case with no top or bottom layers, 15% gyroid infill to get the mesh. I am not sure how to mount it, etc., I am just working through this step by step.
