POOP CATCHER DELUXE

After a long period of searching, I decided to create the best-looking and most useful poop catcher for the Bambu Lab printers by merging some of the ideas I found online.

• I wanted something with a good design that integrates seamlessly with the printer's design;
• I wanted it to be in two pieces to leave the slide always connected to the printer never to miss a poopshot and quickly empty the basket;
• It needs to stay always in place, also when the printer vibrates the most, so I added a slot for some 3M VHB tape to the slide and a magnet to keep the basket always in its place;
• I didn't want to empty it very often so I made a slide in the basket to be sure to fill it in any parts, if you need (specially for multicolour prints) you can also print the basket longer to fit more poopshots.

How to print

I suggest using the settings I put on the file for the best results.

I uploaded 2 versions of the file, one with the magnet and the other a bit different but without the magnet

If you print the magnet version you have 2 options:

• you can pause the printing at layer 26, then wait a bit for cooling and carefully break the supports in the magnet slot, put the magnet (maximum dimensions 20x3mm) in its place, then you can restart printing and the printer should print the upper layer on top of the magnet locking it in place (I suggest to pause the printing during the inner part so you don't ruin the outer shell). When you insert the magnet be careful to put it at the same height as the printed part and put some glue onto the magnet to be sure that the upper layer sticks to it;
• if you are not confident to pause the printer or your magnet sticks to the nozzle you can also at printing fully completed cut with a hot thing the slot for the magnet to insert it

In the back of the basket, there are 5 slots to insert something that is attracted by the magnet on the slide such as bolts or other magnets

FOR THE BEST RESULTS PRINT ONLY AT NORMAL OR SILENT SPEED IF YOU ARE USING A BAMBU LAB PRINTER

WARNING: I received a comment saying that Bambu Lab printers have steel nozzle so the magnet could stick to the nozzle, I didn't have any issue with my P1P because it sticks more to the bed than to the nozzle but be careful and always check if it sticks to your nozzle before restarting printing

Update 17/09/2023

I noticed that if you have a p1p without any enclosure the two tape strips in the back are not enough so I uploaded a piece that you could print to make another point of contact on the left side of the slide
