Maneki-Neko (Lucky Cat) Koban (coin) - 千万両

So you have a cat who likes to lay on his back, and also likes to stretch his left paw way up in the air. What to do, what to do. 

The phrase 千万両 according to bing just means 10 million. Including it here and the title in case that helps anyone searching for something exactly like this :-) Gentle nudge to the site- it would be great if we had non-western character support in tags :-) Also - I have no idea what's up with the translation that got put into the URL…

Notes on this model:

• Printing/Finishing:
  • I printed this in some Shaxon brass filament I bought when Fry's was going out of business, so it's been sitting unopened for years now- .1mm layer height, some infill or other, .5mm line width on a .4mm nozzle on a janky hypercube.  
    • The filament is not that great as you can see.
    • I wound up scraping with a single-edge razor to flatten it, after filling the characters and outlines with “DecoArt” Cherry Red color acrylic paint.
    • Afterward I got some shine back by scrubbing with a green “Scotch-Brite” and some “bar keepers friend” (oxalic acid metal polish)
    • Seriously if you have recommendations for better finishing process or better filament please comment. I had such great plans for this filament and it's so underwhelming so far.
• That's pretty much it.

The plan is to carefully place this under his right paw and get a photo when he's doing this:

If I'm successful I'll update the post with a new photo of the results. If My fingers wind up shredded I'll probably never look upon this model page again. You can see the warning in his eyes. They say you can teach knowledge but wisdom must be earned. I kid, this is the best cat on the planet =^--^=
