Description

A practical spatula or spoon holder to keep your counters clean while cooking. This holder elevates the utensil to help cool it quickly while catching the drips in a small dished area. The holder was especially designed such that it minimally warps during annealing of HTPLA; which makes this easy to print and use. Annealing the HTPLA (or printing in PETG) even makes this dishwasher safe!

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2 mm

Infill:

20%

Notes:

I found out that 3 top/bottom layers, and shells is not sufficient to keep it water tight. 5 layers and perimeter shells seemed to work better. For best results print with PETG or a high temp PLA (HTPLA, etc.).

Post-Printing

If using HTPLA - be sure to anneal to provide the best heat resistance. I also found that if the part wasn't annealed the colors become non-uniform after cleaning in a dishwasher, but it still actually worked fine. Annealing process: Preheat oven to 100C/212Frn2. Bake for 5-10 minutes (as far away from the heating coils)rn3. Cool very slowly to minimize warping (just turn off the oven and let it cool).

Other:

I designed this to hold wooden spatulas I made on a lathe. But it works just as well for spoons and other kitchen utensils.
