Description
This is a laser sight to help make setting the X and Y origin (0,0) faster on a CNC router. This one is custom made to fit on my Probotix spindle mount - but I have included the Fusion 360 file so you can modify it to fit your machine. After attaching the sight to your machine VCarve an X with 0,0 being at the center of the X -- then turn on your laser to measure it's offset (I like to do this with the router raised up as high as it will go to get a consistent measuring height). Then you can simply use this offset (or its negative) and the laser to quickly set the X-Y zero point quickly.
To see the laser sight in action watch this video: https://youtu.be/l4VMo9DCzO8?t=23m36s (specifically the part at 23 minutes 36 seconds).
I printed this in PETG to withstand the hot temps in my garage in the summer months.
