Description
Adjustable mounting solution for the Creality Sonic Pad to fit onto typical 20 series v slot extrusion. This means it will be compatible with a huge range of printers.
The assembly and adjustment is easiest to describe in video format rather than just words. You can find that demonstration here:
You will need to print the left mount, right mount, left base, right base, and 3x the tie bars in the STL files.
On the “Base” parts one side of the gear is closed so the Sonic Pad mounts cannot slide out. In the video the other side was completely open. I made some revisions and released two new versions. Both have a lip on the open side of the base gear teeth. One version (REV4) makes sliding it out sideways nearly impossible… you would have to press very hard to get the teeth to disengage. Use this one if you are very worried about the Sonic Pad falling out and just want to set the position and not adjust very often.
The second version with suffix - Medium Hold , should allow you to still slide the mounts out sideways with some effort but should still prevent it from accidently coming out. Use this one if you think you might be adjusting the position often.
PLA is fine and I would recommend using 25% infill to keep things strong and rigid over time.
0.2mm layer height is sufficient and if your printer tolerances are decent the parts should press fit together and lock with friction.
No additional hardware is required, just re-use the shoulder screws on the legs that come with the Sonic Pad.
As shown in the video, you can also still remove the screen from the base and run the Sonic Pad on a table top without having to remove the “mount” parts. This makes the design very versatile.
