Description

This is my take on a rain water collector. It's been in use for 2 weeks now and works just fine.

The 3mf and gcode files here are for a 100mm pipe with a 54mm hole in the side and a hose with 33mm diameter.

The FreeCAD model is adjustable (within reason) by just typing in the parameters in the table named “D” for dimensions. Best check the middle part of the video.

FreeCAD advice:

  1. you may need to have the “Fasteners” Addon installed
  2. pick the pipe, holesaw and outlet diameter as you need them
  3. remember to check the chamfer after you make a change

Printing advice:

  1. use 0.6mm nozzle
  2. use PETG or something else resistant to UV light. It's used outside after all

Installation advice:

  1. if your rainwater tank does not have an overflow, mount the collector below the maximum desired water level, but still above the inlet :)

Enjoy.
