Freetrack Clip Glasses Mount

My setup:

• 3x5 mm IR transmitting LED
• Power supply voltage: 5 V
• LED voltage drop: 1.3 V
• LED current: 50 mA
• 22 Ohm resistor

Assembly guide:

1. Print a model
2. Do some calculations. Using this LED array calculator I found that my setup requires a 22 Ohm resistor
3. Solder everything according to the calculator's scheme
4. Increase the infrared beam angle by filing each LED lens almost to the metal part. I used Dremel and 400-grade sandpaper for the matte finish
5. Set LEDs into places. No glue is required. But you may use a drop of hot glue for each LED
6. Attach the clip to the glasses with cable ties. I also used a heat shrink tube underlay to prevent scratches
7. Set the model dimensions in your head tracking software as in the last photo
8. All done!
