Description
Replacement brake light for a KCQ Xiaomi M365 clone.
Couldnt find a translucent red polycarbonate filament I could print so PETG wins. If anyone tries this with PC and has good results I'd love to see it!
Base: Jayo PETG, Black 15% infill, no supports .2mm LH
Lens: IEMAI PETG, Translucent Red, 40% infill, honeycomb pattern, no supports, .2mm LH
Hole in the base is sized for ¼" rubber grommet. I used one out of a kit from Harbor Freight found here.
Use a little hot glue on the back of the LED PCB where the guides are in the lens to hold it in place.
If you haven't already, mark the electrical connector plug with a permanent marker to indicate which way the wires go for reassembly and then remove the connector on the end of the cable. This will allow the wires to fit easily through both the lens grommet and the battery compartment grommet. Put a thin bead of Crazy Glue around the top of the base part. Very carefully pull the remaining slack through the base while guiding the the lens until it seats to the base. There should be a mild snap as it seats.
Battery compartment grommet and connector housing go back on after brake light is seated in mudguard.
Put the connector housing back on the end of the cable and complete reassembly!
If you make one, please share!
