Description
This is an insert I made for Plastic House cereal boxes to hold a hygrometer such as this one and The Ultimate Spool Holder (TUSH). This is one of my first real big designs in Fusion - I only started learning it at the beginning of 2023. I've had a lot of fun working on this and I hope you find it useful!
I have 2 variations: one that allows full double-sided spool holders, and a second that only accepts a half spool holder on each side. I found that my spools of Prusament were wider than my Inland and Sunlu spools, so I needed to find an alternative to work with the Prusament. After trying several things, I settled on using half a spool holder on each side (i.e., 2 bearings attached to one side of the spool holder, without the other side to snap together and enclose them).
I'm printing on a Mini+ and its bed is not large enough to print the insert in a single piece. I've therefore split it into front and back halves, and they fit together with a simple dovetail.
If you like this, please consider clicking the ❤ button. I'd love to see your makes, too - please upload photo(s) if you're able - thanks so much!
I have only printed in PLA so far. I typically use a 0.6 nozzle with 0.3 layer height.
You'll need to use supports on the front half for the hygrometer holder. I've been using the new organic supports in the PrusaSlicer 2.6 alphas with good success.
