Description
This contraption holds the Samyang 8mm fish eye lens on a tripod rotating it around the nodal point and at the right angle as to minimize the number of shots needed for 360 panorama. 6 shots needed with 60 degree rotation and a 7th one for the ground
You need to take one more shot from the nadir once done with the panorama.
Other than the print you need couple of screws, nuts and cylindrical tripod adapter.
One downside of the design is that I thought the dot for top the lens that needs to align with the upper protrusion in the cutouts is easier visible from the external side (close to aperture ring). So in future I may re-print with small cutout for the dot to make alignment easier. For now I align the marker with the f/2.8 aperture marking.
The pano head works well except I need to crop the corners of images in Hugin as my rotator (seen in one picture
I printed this with ABS at local company. Created the model using SketchUp.
