Description
EDIT:
Made a new “Top” insert which is more open. (Second photo).
I simply removed an internal wall to make it easier to remove the stand and the tips.
“Case_Insert_Top_Open”
Remixed inserts for the rugged case (V2, Large parts).
Made to fit one of those cheap 8w/5v USB soldering irons.
The one I bought was branded as a “Velleman” “VTSUSB” soldering iron, with extra tips. (ASIN: B077GT2SKY)
Didn't buy it for actual soldering, but to sculpt/repair/melt 3d prints.
The inserts fit the large V2 outer case by PjotrStrog.
So download the original parts that I haven't remixed (outer case v2, peripherals v2).
My parts just include the case inserts and the small clamps that hold the soldering iron and extra tips.
So, print:
-One of each insert (Top and Bottom).
-One of each soldering iron insert clamps (Front and Rear).
-4x tips insert clamps.
Assembly:
The clamps are inserted from the bottom of the inserts, before the insert is put into the outer case parts.
The clamps for the soldering iron are marked F and R, for Front and Rear (matching F and R on the bottom of the insert).
The rear clamp is for the rear of the soldering iron which is slightly thicker than the front.
The clamps for the tips are all identical and just needs to be oriented correctly when inserted.
Notes:
I used the stand from Vegar, and the solder reel from Termiman.
