Description

This allows your GoPro to be mounted vertically while also using the passthrough charging. Perfect for time-lapses, or longer videos where you want the vertical position.

There are two models, and the difference is the cable holder. The original on Printables from Scott has a cable holder. I added a cable holder while keeping the design of Miko's and put the cable holder on the outside so the cable wouldn't get stuck when the mount screw is fully in place (which requires removal of the mount to change the cable). I also slightly offset the mounting ears to give space for various mounts.

  • Material: You should be ok with any material. I have printed this in ASA/ABS, PLA, and PETG. I prefer the “snappiness” of the ASA/ABS print. PETG was the worst “feel” as the stretchiness seemed fragile on the closure.
  • Supports: Yes. Auto-painted, or use any and make sure to support the mount tabs. You may or may not need support for any holes.
  • Layer Height: I prefer 0.15mm max for the strength. I printed some in 0.10 and 0.15 and didn't notice a substantial difference
  • Infill: I did a few at 20%, 50%, and 100% infill. I suppose it depends on your use case. This is a small part and additional infill doesn't take too much more time or material. I would recommend 3 perimeters minimum at any infill.

If you don't want the passthrough ability, you could easily fill the hole on the STL…
