Description

This is a single slot blower fan mount for the LSI Logic 9201-16i. I have a small NIC next to this card which can't be in another slot due to PCIe slot configurations on my MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard. Usually I'd just slap a 40x40mm conventional fan on the heat sink, but I needed a single slot solution for this. I also wanted something that didn't hinder removing cables if needed. Luckily, with the layout of the components, there is open space on the LSI 9201-16i PCB that is perfectly suited for an air duct like this.

Print this vertical for minimal supports.

Blower Fan: AVC BASA0715B2U 70x70x15mm (search ebay for these)  I spliced a 3-pin connector to the fan wiring and adjusted the speed in BIOS

Hardware: 2 M4x20mm screws, 2 M4 nuts

I have many of these AVC fans that were pulled from Lenovo M92P mini PCs. They are excellent for airflow. The specs on the Delta seem to indicate it's not as powerful, but I imagine it has plenty to keep this card cool.

The total thickness of the fan duct is 18mm from the top side of the 9201-16i PCB. The PCI slot spec indicates that 20mm is in spec for a single slot. Though I believe that also accounts for the PCB itself and the backside solder/components. I tried to capture a clearance view for the slot next to this and you can see there is an ever so small gap by the next card. I could not make this blower any thinner because of components on the 9201-16i that stick up 3mm. 3mm+15mm = 18mm. It may not quite be in spec, but I believe it will work with a little wiggling should you have a bigger card next to it.

The height of the duct and fan from the motherboard I believe is around 130mm. I forgot to note the height, but if a 150mm tower cooler fits in your case, this will fit easily. I have this in a 4u rackmount case.
