Description
For our upcoming 3d printer faire (see last image), I wanted to make a little display to protect my favourite prints against too curious fingers.
I had some plexiglas laying around, so I came up with a cylindrical display that prints without support, and can be built without glue.
You'll need some bendable plexiglas or clear plastic with a thickness of 1-2mm. Cut out a piece of 581mm by the desired height. Mine is about 300mm in height. This will be the wall of the display.
Print 2x the ring and 2x the claw.
Scale the spine to the height of the wall minus 70mm (as the claws each already hold 35mm.
If your printer doesn't allow to print the spine in on piece, you can print several smaller parts. They do not have to be glued in order to hold the wall tight. (But of curse you can if you want to)
Bend the Wall to a cylinder, insert it into one of the rings with the seam going into one of the claws. Insert the spine and then the top ring with the claw.
Done,
Add some led stripes for an dramtic effect. Or don't. It's up to you.
