Description

I modified the lid to use ‘L’ shaped tabs to hold the lid on. The hole on the back of the box has been relocated and resized for the corded on/off switch I used. Lastly, I added G8 socket holder columns to position the bulb better to prevent hot spots and more evenly distribute light. Additionally, I added padded feet and reflective duct tape to help spread light. I also printed a few zip tie pads found here:  minimalistic cable zip tie pads.

No supports necessary - printed in PLA, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height. I printed ‘L’ shape brackets with a brim.

*** Please follow the guide on the original model for the lithophane print instructions.

BOM

Below is the materials I used for the build:

  • G8 Ceramic Socket Adapters
  • G8 LED Bulbs
  • 6' On/Off Switched Power Cord
  • Cabinet Bumpers 1/2" Round

Build Instructions

  • ‘L’ shaped tabs are glued on with super glue to lid after I positioned the entire model upside down with lid aligned. Tada
  • When mounting the sockets in the towers/columns I hot glued the base to the tower and super glued that base to the box interior.
  • I positioned the G8 bulbs where I thought there would be even light spread across my specific lithophane.
  • I like to use a dab of super glue wherever I place the cabinet bumpers.
  • You will need to supply your own wire nuts to seal the deal.

*** Please follow the guide on the original model for the lithophane print instructions.
