Modular Storage System for Ikea Skadis

DESCRIPTION:

Started to make a Storage System made for Ikea Skadis which provides the following:

• modular and stackable system (easy to connect and easy to seperate)
• space saving system (use as much space from the skadis wall)
• pretty easy to print (no supports needed for any parts - at least for the current modules)
• little use of fillament while still stable
• easy to add more modules ( there are many possibilities, will keep adding new stuff)
• "skadis hooks" printed and clipped on seperatly (often had issues with integrated ones)

Printing Environment i'm using:

• 0.2mm layer height
• 15-30% infill (100% infill for the hooks)
• no supports
• PLA+

To connect two modules simply press them together. To seperate them, gently squish the longer wall of one module to the inner side and then pull them appart. (You wont be able to seperate them by just pulling)

Hooks are pressed into the holder contour of the module with an 90° angle and then rotated to correct direction. Make sure, you press them all the way in before rotating.

As already mentioned i will keep adding new modules and different sizes of the existing modules.

Added two new parts:

• usbx12+microsdx10_top_153x45_fixable
• top_tray_153x45x5_fixable

These two top moduls can be connected with the “base_drawer_153x45” using the normal “connector”. This prevent the top modules from get lose when pulling out the drawer underneath.

Uploaded a slightly improved Version of the “Connector” which connects two “base_drawer_153x45x20” (can be found in the folder “base-connectors + skadis-hooks”)

sadly i just discovered an issue with the drawers which leads to them not sliding smooth.

So i needed to reupload most of them. On that occasion i also slightly improved the sign holder on the drawers. See also update picture.

UPDATE 06.06.2023

Started adding new v1.1 parts where i improved the following:

• better to print, better to stack, got rid of the integrated hook cover feature (base parts)
• better to print and updated handle (drawers)
• drawers now have better resistant point before pulling them out completely
• drawers now have a radius inside for getting small parts out more easy

Important

• all new parts are backward compatible with the old parts except the drawers
• for the new drawers i recomment using the new v1.1 base parts since the new drawers grew 1mm in depth and they work best with the new v1.1 base parts.

UPDATE - 21.05.2023

All parts are now tested. I discovered some issues with the large drawer, more precisely with the "hold in conture" on the side of the drawer itself. It makes pulling the drawer out too complicated because it tends to tilt due to its width.
So i uploaded an updated file of the big drawer withouth the "hold in conture" and will add a second variant of the "base_drawer_153x45x20" which will then hold two smaller drawers instead.
