Description
This is a direct drive conversion mod for the Elegoo Neptune 2S ONLY!
This will not work on the Neptune 2, because the extruder on the 2S is right about 8.4mm taller. That's also why the filament sensor uses these janky stand-offs that are not present on the regular Neptune 2.
I realized that only after i printed regularfry's Direct Drivinator for Elegoo Neptune 2.
So i created one that fits the Neptune 2S myself, with the same concept as regularfry's model.

V26 Update 20.03.2024:
It uses the stock extruder, and stock hotend. The PTFE tube should ideally be 81.1mm long. The Motor / Extruder are mounted on slots, so it will allow about 4mm of wiggle room.
The Motor is mounted with the connector facing back. The model includes two hooks for easy cable management.
The original motor cable is too short to reach all the way to the print head, so i used an old 4-wire telephone cable and soldered the original JST-Connectors on both ends.
For the Hotend cables i've also modeled in a little hole to push a zip-tie through.
There's also this wedge in the back so you can adjust the tension at least somewhat.
The part should be printed in PETG, with at least 3 walls, and 20% infill. Although, i printed the prototypes for this in PLA with a 0.6mm nozzle and it held up just fine. You also wanna use a brim.
Assembly is definitely tricky, but if you know enough about 3D printers to know what a direct drive is, this should be easy as cake ;)
And for anyone wondering, I'm using this duct hotend / part cooling. Stock print head should also work just fine.
