Description
This is a remix of the tread from this model.
The tread needs bit of infill when printing from really soft filaments such as 75a and 60a. It might even need infill when printed from 83a but that hasn't been tested yet.
I wasn't happy with the infill from the slicer so I designed my own infill into the model from scratch. The infill is inspired by Mecanum wheels. Those are the magic wheels that allow a vehicle to move in any direction.
Of course the purpose of this tread is not to allow your vehicle to move in any direction. Instead the main purpose of this infill design is symmetry. It is my hope this will make the tire more balanced and run smoother and allow the tire to expand uniformly.
Make sure you print a left and a right or your car might drift to one side.
Filament I used.
Infill is built into the design so you should be able to set infill to 0.
Printing in 75a no support was needed on my machine.
With 75a i printed these with 2 walls with a .6 nozzle but it would be 3 walls with a .4
I was using adaptive layer heights. .2 as the base layer height with a variation of .02 plus or minus. (this was more for a bit of time saving and not strictly necessary .2 layer height or a little less would be perfect)
I used 4 top and 4 bottom layers
