Base for Big Clive AA/AAA DUMB battery charger

Simple printed base for Big Clive's NiMh / NiCad (NOT Lithium Ion / LiFePo4) DUMB battery charger to prevent shorts on underside.

This charger can (in theory) rejuvinate old batteries which no longer charge in “smart” chargers, by very slowly charging them (about a week). But, please watch Big Clive's video on it before you make one of your own…

Bill Of Materials (for charger) per unit…

• PCB (http://www.bigclive.com/NIMH.zip),
• 8x 120 Ohm resistors,
• 4x diodes (I used 1N4004),
• 1x 470 Ohm risistor,
• 4x AA battery clips with through hole legs,
• 1x USB micro socket (through hole 2 pin style),
• 5x LEDs of your choice (red LEDs will cause batteries to charge slightly faster).

Bill Of Materials (for base) per unit…

• 4x M2.6 x 6mm self tapping screws.

NB: You can still charge AAA batteries with AA battery holders. They're just a bit looser!

Legal stuff… I did not design the charger and am not liable for anyone who incorrectly assembles / uses their own. I include the Bill of Materials for the charger as I have not found a listing elsewhere and had to make it from the video myself.
