Description
Designed for the TPO 180 Ultrawide telescope, which is also called the Askar FMA180. It won't work with the new Pro version.
Clamps around the reducer and the right position is at the back of that section. This give you more room for a filter drawer. It is the right height for a DSLR to sit flat on a dovetail plate.
Helical gears that are extra long to deal with the fact the focuser ring moves forward and back. Smooth and quiet operation.
2020 mounting tabs at the top to hold a guide camera, computer, or other accessories. I'm using the OpenAstroGuider
Instructions:
Print Ring_Gear_Test_Fitment at 100%, 100.5%, 101%, and 99.5% scale and test fit on the focuser ring to find which is a light press fit for your filament and printer. Then you can print all the parts at that scale.
Tested with ASA and HTPLA+. You can use something else, but keep in mind if you will leave it out in the sun or in a hot car that normal PLA may warp, and ABS can be damaged by UV.
Print with a lot of perimeters and around 40% infill for stiff parts. The M3 inserts go in the pinion gear and the bottom of the clamp base. The M6 inserts install from the inside of the clamp base.
