I needed a box for my 85mm circular saw blades. With the power of CAD and 3D printing I created this thing.
print instructions
- PLA is fine, any other material will do. Keep in mind that e.g. ASA/ABS are shrinking and perhaps the fit is not garantied
- print base part as you like, no special instructions here.
- top/cover part:
- 0,2mm layer height to get the saw blade feature correctly
- for asthetics (the colored blade on the box) here are some print hints:
- option 1: just print, color of blade and box is the same, but blade will be vissible
- option 2: use MMU
- option 3: print layer 2 in a different color. The color change will be visible at the outside perimeter of the box.
- option 4: make a manual color change during the print just between perimeter of second layer is printed and before the brideging part beginns. Make another color change during print, after the blade is finished. this can be a bit tricky, but it is managable
- option 5: if 1-4 is not for you, you can do some gcode ninja :-)
- slice the cover part and save the gcode file
- open gcode file in an editor
- use prusaslicer to determine the gcode line where the first and second layer change should be (see pictures)
- insert in that lines a M600
- save & upload the gcode to your printer
hint
after printing und first use: it is recomended to gently use an M8 nut and bolt to clear the threads.
additional notes
I'm interested in your feedback to improve my stuff! So give me likes, post makes, comment and rate the print to show others and me how well it goes.
If you post a make, let me know which filament you use.
If you want to support me by donating a coffee go to https://ko-fi.com/antimaterie I would really happy about it. The money will be invested in all stuff regarding 3d printing to give more and better quality models.
In general my Prints are not for commercial use, but if you are a print farm owner and want to sell some of my stuff, please contact me.
Hope you enjoy my models.
