Whiteboard Marker Magnet Holder (STAEDTLER)

I designed this holder to have a simple and low profile magnetic holder for my whiteboard markers.

It holds on to the cap, so your hands are cap-free while writing.

Settings:

• PLA+
• 0.6mm nozzle
• 0.6mm extrusion width
• 0.2mm layer height
• 3 Shells
• No suppports (bridging works fine)
• 25% infill (doesn't matter)
• skirt

Slicer tweaks:

To optimize the ugly layer mark that most people have when pausing mid-print.
(Occurs due to outer Shell not being printed completely.)

• Deactivated: “Force Retraction when moving to outer shell”
• changed the printing order to: Infill→InnerShell→OuterShell

Another (easier) option that also works would be to print multiple holders at the same time, so just one has the ugly layer mark.

Installing the magnets during print:

• You need two 10x2.2 mm magnets
• I stopped at 3.02mm (in my case layer 15) and inserted the magnets.
• Then I completed the print
• One holder prints in 16 minutes and uses 2.7g of filament

Installing the holder after print:

• Its a pretty snug fit onto the cap of the marker. (you might as well need a hammer for the last 2mm)
• no wiggle room, i love it!
