Description

I decided to build a very large rocket... starting with the Microsoft Saturn V as a base, I extended it's size to 7' 6" tall and sliced it up into manageable chunks by the Polar 3D printer. The 1st stage is 8" in diameter, which is the maximum diameter of the printer and each chunk is no more than 6" tall, again, the printers build height.

I printed it entirely in PLA... it took 6 printers about 36 hours to complete. It used about 4kg of PLA for the entire print with a 2% infill and a 320 micron layer height. 2 Shells for most of it, but some structural elements were 3 shells.

I built mine in 3 large sections... each connected together by a slip fit P logo pin in the middle so we could easily move it.

Instructions

Print with at least .8mm shell... I prefer 1.2mm shells... no infill is needed on the Polar 3D printer.

Simply assemble the parts with hot glue or super glue. I printed a few P connectors and used them to stack it together.
