Description
This canary nightlight is 3D printed and uses NeoPixel LEDs to light up blue when you’re awake and turns red when you’re ready to sleep.
You can put this canary in the outlet by the light switch where it can watch over you!
Powered by a QT Py ESP32 S3, this has a 5×5 neopixel grid BFF soldered to the back for a low-profile build. This QT Py features the ESP32 S3, 8MB of flash and 13 GPIO for making IoT projects with CircuitPython or Arduino.
The circuit python code uses Adafruit IO to get the current time and sets the neopixels to be either blue or red depending on the time of day. It also has a Network Down detection feature that will make the neopixels blink red to let you know if your internet is down.
Check out the guide on the Adafruit learning system for a full step by step tutorial on building this project.
