Gardena Micro-Drip Watering System - 4.6mm (3/16") Tube Holder

June 1, 2023
Description
This is a holder for the tube included in Gardena's MicroDrip/balcony watering system. It supports tubes and pipes with a diameter of 4.6mm (3/16 inch).
The model has a little custom brim at the tip, to hold it flat on the printbed. Version 1 had a little warping directly at the tip, even with PLA (at least on my printer). But this little custom brim should be enough to hold the model flat, while using very little extra material (if your bed adhesion is otherwise good and you have no problem with warping normally with the material you use). You can just cut away the little custom brim with a knive after printing. I also provided a version v1 without the custom brim, if you prefer to set a brim in your slicer or don't care about a little warping at the tip. It should have little influence on the function, only make it a little harder to put into the ground.
Print Settings
- 0.12-0.2mm resolution; 15% Infill (most of the model is solid infill anyways)
- 3 perimeter; bottom and top layers at least so high, that all of the shaft is solid material (depending on the layer height something like >3-5 for both should be fine)
- no raft
- depending on your bed adhesion with or without brim; if bed adhesion is good you don't need a brim, the tip is held flat by a little custom brim in the model, which can easily be removed later
- Material: PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, … - keep UV-radiation and weather in mind when using it outside. But even PLA should last quite a while outside and they are cheap and fast to replace, should they show signs of degradation.
- Colour: Basically no restriction, but keep temperatures in mind. Black PLA kept directly in sunlight might get too hot during warm summer days.
