Description
I have tried various end-stop holders for my Sculpfun S9 laser, but they each had their own particular problems. The ones I've remixed here were the closest to ideal, but I had a couple of issues. The first is that the end-stop switches I have didn't fit very well as the recess for the PCB pins wasn't deep enough, resulting in the switch's PCB not sitting flat The second issue is that in the original design the switches were operated when the lever was contacted by the carriage wheel, which wasn't ideal as far as I was concerned.
I redesigned the brackets so that the switch lever comes into contact with the side of the carriage - in most other respects they are almost identical, apart from the slight increase in height of the switch platform on the X axis, so that the bracket clears the belt fixing screw.
The switches seen in the photos seem to be the most commonly available on eBay, and they work straight out of the box when plugged into the Sculpfun controller.
On my Sculpfun S9 I have fitted these brackets on the right-front for the Y-axis, and on the left for the X-axis. This means that the laser head will home to the front-left. The X-axis bracket will work on the right-hand end of that axis without modification, but you may have to mirror the Y-axis bracket in your slicer if you want to mount it elsewhere.
I have now designed translucent covers for these end-stops - shown above - that are available here: https://www.printables.com/model/494232-limit-switch-cover

Notes:
These brackets can be made in your favourite material, at whatever settings you consider appropriate. My settings were 0.2mm, 3 walls, 3 layers top and bottom, 40% infill.
Support is only needed for the X-axis bracket, as the Y-axis one has no overhangs. I found it easiest to drill the switch mounting screw holes at 2.6mm and then tap the hole at M3. It is possible to force an M3 screw in, but it can be very difficult to remove later!
