Wireless smoke alarm electrical box mount for ZSDR-850

Adapter for mounting a ZSDR-850 Zigbee Smoke Alarm on an electrical box. 

In The Netherlands it's required by law to have smoke alarms installed in every house and it is adviced to replace them every 10 years. Your old smoke alarms may be installed on an electrical box and the 3D printable parts of this project allow you to mount the ZSDR-850 Zigbee Smoke Alarm on top of it.

Installation

Print both parts following the instructions below. Screw the electrical box plate cover on your electrical box. Use the 3M adhesive sticker to stick the rear of your ZSDR-850 mount onto the 3D printed mount converter, you can align the screw holes with the screw indentions on the 3D print to make it fit perfectly.

Printing instructions

I used PLA and a 0.4mm nozzle to print these parts using an Ender 3 v2.

Electrical box plate

Without any support or brim and with the top (flat) side on the print bed. 

ZSDR-850 mount

With support touching the print bed only printed with the round side up and the connector pins on the print bed.

Final notes

If you have anything else that you want to mount over an electrical box, you can use the electrical box plate cover and design your own adapter to fit your needs!
