Anti-Vibration Shock Absorber Damping Plate for MATEKSYS H743-SLIM Flight Controller (Updated)

FAQ

I have built a X500 size quad-copter and I needed to reduce the vibrations to the MATEKSYS H743-SLIM Flight Controller as much as possible. This module will only fit the MATEKSYS H743-SLIM v2 and v3 flight controllers.

To complete this project you will also need the following:

• 4 x M3 x 8mm nylon bolts.
• 4 x ~13mm anti-vibration Rubber Balls.
• Double sided VHB tape.

You need to print only one Top Plate depending how the Matek H743-SLIM FC is connected to the ESC and GPS. If ESC and GPS is connected to the FC via JST connectors then use the “Top Plate using ESC & GPS connectors”. If the ESC and GPS wires are soldered to the FC pads then use “Top Plate using solder pads”. The bottom plate works with both Top Plates.

Recommendations

• Use PETG as reacts better with higher temperatures and UV. The 3mf files are sliced using PRUSASLICER 2.6.0 beta3.
• Clean the surfaces where the VHB tape will adhere with Isopropyl Alcohol.
• Use a none sharp point to push the rubber balls to the plate holes. Careful not to puncture the rubber balls.
• In the begging of a flight day, during the Pre-Flight also check that the VHB tape is fully adhered to the drone.
• I do not recommend to bolt down the bottom plate as that will make the assembly semi-rigid and loose some of the anti-vibration properties.
• After installing this assembly, hover in low altitude for a short time and check your IMUs vibration logs for any unusual picks etc.
