Hey everyone, I decided to make a minimalist case for the Beagle 3D Printing Camera. I am by no means a 3D modeling pro..but I have tested out the design with my own camera and it seems to work great.
My hope is that people will think the idea is great and remix it to create even better versions
Here's some insights about it:
- You can use all original screws and camera cover. Be careful of using wide screw near chip on mainboard (Circled in photo)
- I have attached a GoPro Style mount to the bottom of the case for ease of finding printer mounts.
- Top and Bottom piece are held together by magnets.
- I printed my case using Polymaker PLA, and found that using Fine (0.16 mm layer height) PLA settings in Bambulab Slicer and printing with supports ‘only touching build plate’ works the best.
- Print with the flat sides face down for best results (as the file originally places the model in slicer)
- I super glued the speaker and mic to the dedicated spots, as well as the small magnets.
BOM:
- 3mm x 1mm small magnets (x4), you can find a pack of 400 on Amazon for less than $10
- Super Glue
- Beagle Camera, everything besides the original shell
Fixes, in future iterations:
- Dedicated space for Wi-Fi antenna (I just stuck it to the “Top Cover” piece)
- Maybe create more mounting options
- Different system for joining “Top Cover” and “Bottom” , the magnets I purchased weren't strong enough
Updates 6/7/2023
- Added version 2 with some tweaks
- Added option with different built-in mount
