Shock mount for DR-05X

I bought a Tascam DR-05X to record a better audio track than my dashcam, the problem is that every vibration is transmitted to the recorder via the windshield suction mount.

So I decided to make the simplest mount possible with what I had on hand to prevent vibrations conduction.

BOM :

2 x O-ring Id = 24.5 mm, Od = 30.5 mm

2 x Rubber band Od = 25 mm

1 x Camera screw (¼")

1 x Suction mount (or any camera mount for your purpose)

Instructions

The recorder can only be hung to the support with this design so it may not be suitable for your use case.

1. Place the rubber bands along the wide side of the plate in the grooves
2. Place the O-rings along the short side of the plate in the grooves
3. Slide the hooks of the U-shaped part in the above assembly

The rubber bands are only here to prevent too much movements and the O-rings do all the work by firmly maintaining the suspended device.

Everything should be stable and support a fairly good amount of weight as long as the device stay perpendicular to the mount assembly.
