Water Ingress/Egress Test Article

Many 3D makes are intended for outdoor service, especially instruments of any kind. This simple design with 2mm thick walls can be used to pre-test your printer profile, filament choice and filament settings before printing the final housing design. To test for water egress simply fill the article and place it upon a telltale surface. To test for water ingress fill the article, seal the opening with a 12x12x2mm thick patch of 3M self-stick silicone and place the dry, sealed article outside in the elements. A bottom boss with blind hole is provided to accept a 5mm placement shaft if so desired. If post printing surface treatments, such as acetone smoothing, paint, flex-seal spray etc. - are required (likely will be) this same test article and test procedure can be reengaged.
