Chair piston gas blocker

It's a gas spring/damper to prevent the chair from falling when the spring breaks. It works with springs of 28.6mm diameter. There's space to fit 3 plastic ties, each 5mm wide.

This spacer fits around the mechanism it does't replace it. Should the part fail for any reason you should still have your gas lift mechanism to support the chair.

I printed it with supports at a layer height of 0.02 and with a 20% infill.

Supports more than 150kg (tested)
