Description

I needed to attach my plunger valve from the tank/pool outlet (lower fitting) to a heater for a DIY stock tank hot tub project. The heater used is supplied with fittings for connecting to rigid 1.5" PVC pipe, but my Intex-supplied "A" fittings for the plunger valve aren't sized to fit pipe. Also, Intex fittings are polypropylene which is difficult to glue. Some online how-to guides for stock tank pools/hot tubs suggest JB Weld's MarineWeld epoxy for making this connection, but multiple attempts were unsuccessful for me. This is designed to insert into the PVC and be solvent-welded in place. Mine is printed in ABS, glued to the pipe using Oatey "All Purpose Cement" which is readily available at hardware stores and home improvement centers. Oatey's "ABS to PVC Transition Cement" will also work. I have no advice for adhesives or cement if you attempt this part with PLA or PETG materials, and would not recommend them due to my lack of experience using those materials for this kind of application.

This was modeled from scratch using the Intex fitting for dimensions. Use with the nut from dh6obn's thing:4412148 for the ultimate DIY solution -- I almost modeled the nut myself before finding their Thing. I actually have replaced all the Intex nuts in my system with their printed ones, because they fit much more securely than the Intex ones do.

STEP file included.
