Description
The Filament measure will accurately tell you how much filament you have left on your spool. Hold the top of the tool that is above the 1000 line at the top of the spool. Each line has a number, and that number tells you how many grams is left. Print at a slower speed than you usually do so that the numbers are readable. This is only for 1kg spools, this will not measure any other sizes accurately. This isn't a perfect measure because 1kg spools aren't all the same size, but it will be really close. I have made a clamp that you can glue to the filament measure to attach it to the spool. You will need to glue the side with the hard bend to the measuring tool like in the first two pictures. The bend should be adjacent to the top of the measuring tool. When attaching it to the spool, it should rest on the hard bend. (Shown in picture 3). Just in case your slicer is like mine it makes the clamp way to big, the demission's are supposed to be, x=5.3766mm, y=7mm, z=13.065mm. If your filament roll is brand new you might have to cut the clamp to make it fit right. (Shown in picture 4)
