Description

Headphone holder with screw clamp mechanism for mounting it to a desk. In this configuration, desks ranging up to 38mm can be accommodated. The screw features a hexagonal style head for a little different aesthetic than most other headphone holders like this.

The goal was also to trim the dimensions to a reasonable amount to still provide enough strength (see also printing advise) but also appear less bulky than other headphone holders. This design also has corner cutouts to make sure it sits nicely against the table on all three clamp side regardless of the corner radius of your table.

The length of the headphone support arm was sized for the HyperX Cloud Alpha headphones which have a fairly large headband. This means they should hold most headphones pretty good. There is also a version with a shorter arm, if that fits your needs better.

Version 2

  • Thinner overall to better fit most headphones, not just fairly wide ones like the HyperX Cloud Alpha
  • Slightly thinner jaws to save material while maintaining enough strength
  • Longer jaw version to accommodate desks with edges that are not flat (real wood tables f.e.)
  • Longer screw model included for thinner tables. You can cut this in the Slicer to match your desk thickness perfectly

Printing

All parts print without supports. Print the holder laying on the side and the screw standing on its head.

Both parts, holder and screw, can be printed at the same time with 0,2mm layers. I modified the screw with a height range modifier for the thread in Prusa Slicer (0.12mm layer height for the thread), to make sure it's nice and clean. But that might be unnecessary if you want to try it without this modifier. Or you just print it one after the other with different layer height settings.

Also set the min. perimeters to 4, to provide enough strength to those areas where the forces from clamping are largest. You can set the infill to 15% with cubic infill.
